波多野敦子|Atsuko Hatano

弦楽器奏者/音楽家。東京を拠点に活動。

５弦ヴィオラ、ヴァイオリン、チェロなどの弦楽器を主軸に、電子音響プログラムMax/MSP、環境音、声といった多層的な音素材を組み合わせ、アコースティックとエレクトロニックの境界に独自の音楽空間を構築する。シリーズ作品「Cells Music」では、微細な粒子の音が増殖と減衰を繰り返し、有機的な流れを形成していくサウンドスケープを展開している。

ソロ、コラボレーション、弦楽プロジェクトTRIOLA名義での創作を通じ、Superpang、Important Records、Alien Transistorなど海外レーベルから作品をリリース。現代音楽、映像、舞台、ポップスの領域を横断し、弦楽表現の拡張と再解釈を追究している。これまでに国内外の多数のアーティストと共演し、2012年よりJim O’Rourkeのバンドに参加。

また折坂悠太の全アルバムにてストリングスアレンジと演奏を手がけるほか、Midori Hirano、Ken Ikeda、Giovanni di Domenico、Joe Talia、Pak Yan Lau、秋山徹次らとコラボレーション作品を発表している。

Atsuko Hatano String player / composer, based in Tokyo. Working primarily with five-string viola, violin, and cello, Atsuko Hatano combines Max/MSP processing, environmental sound, and voice to create a distinctive musical space that intersects acoustic and electronic realms. In her ongoing Cells Music series, she develops soundscapes in which microscopic sonic particles proliferate and decay, forming fluid, organic structures.

Through solo works, collaborations, and her string project TRIOLA, she has released music on international labels such as Superpang, Important Records, and Alien Transistor. Her practice spans contemporary music, film, stage, installation, and pop, continually exploring and reinterpreting the expressive possibilities of strings.

She has collaborated with numerous artists both in Japan and abroad, and has been a member of Jim O’Rourke’s ensemble since 2012. In addition to arranging and performing strings for all of Yuta Orisaka’s albums, she has released collaborative works with Midori Hirano, Ken Ikeda, Giovanni di Domenico, Joe Talia, Pak Yan Lau, and Tetuzi Akiyama.
